Kim Soo Hyun’s Lawyer “No Q&A at Press Conference Because the Current Issue Is Under Investigation, It Requires Legal Judgment”
On March 31 at 4:30 PM, Kim Soo Hyun held an emergency press conference at a hotel in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul to clarify his position on the ongoing controversy regarding his private life. The event was conducted without a Q&A session with the press.
Kim Soo Hyun reiterated that he had only dated Kim Sae Ron after she became an adult, for about a year. He further stated that the KakaoTalk messages provided by her family were manipulated and edited, claiming that the individuals Kim Sae Ron messaged in 2016 and 2018 were not him, based on findings from a scientific analysis and verification institution.
Attorney Kim Jong Bok from LKB & Partners addressed the press, “Since there will be no Q&A session today, I would like to provide answers to some common questions the media may have. Kim Soo Hyun and his agency, Gold Medalist, have filed criminal complaints and civil lawsuits to clarify the facts.”
He continued, “At their request, we have filed a complaint today against the deceased’s family members, a person claiming to be her aunt and the operator of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act. We submitted evidence including Kim Soo Hyun’s appraisal statement and filed a civil lawsuit seeking a total of 12 billion KRW in damages.”
Explaining why they opted not to take questions, the lawyer stated, “Because the complaint has been officially submitted, the matter is now subject to an investigation and requires legal judgment. That is why we chose not to conduct a Q&A session today.”
